Grade 9 Beauty and Wellness (407)- Introduction

Explore the relationship between beauty and mental well-being – or the impact beauty has on self-esteem and image – which are the most important factors in an individual’s ability to lead and enjoy a successful life. This course is designed for the students to learn about and perform the basics of beauty therapy and maintain hygiene and safety at the workplace. The students would gain knowledge about various beauty products and will be able to perform basic depilation, manicure, pedicure, and basic face care services.

Course Timeline:
Current research suggests that activities involved in maintaining beauty positively influence our emotional and physical well-being. They create positive internal experiences that can result in decreased stress, as well as identifiable benefits to the body and brain.

The industry is growing at a very fast pace so there any many career opportunities.
Numerous hair care brands are increasingly using natural and organic ingredients driven by consumer demand for these products over products containing hydrofluorocarbons, formaldehyde, fragrances, and micro-particles of other ingredients. Manufacturers are launching organic detanglers, protective and styling serums, and volumizing products in spray formats to cater to the growing number of consumers who are wary of synthetic components.
