Worksheet 1  "colour the Bear', is to be done in the class.

Worksheet 3 "Food a Bear eats" is to be done in the class.

AR sheet and Worksheet 2 "Types of Bear" can be sent home for reinforcement

Sending a worksheet home is a good way of reinforcing what the child learnt. It’s a much-needed practice at home, But it on the teacher's discretion.

Note to the Teachers (Prepare your class)

Please make sure you have the materials needed for the activities in this session, preferably crayons, glue sticks, coloured papers, flashcards, printouts of worksheets, a projector, a laptop, a phone/tab, etc.

Preparing for the session is a good way to jump-start the session confidently. ( Please keep in mind the count of the material will be as per the strength of the class).

Initiating teaching prompts

  •  As children listen to a new story and get more information on the Wild animal Bear, the adult can make it an interactive session.

  •  A video (VR) of the stories, is a great way of learning.

  • This is an enjoyable and exciting experience for the children. 

  • Modulate your voice to capture attention.

  • Engage children in an interesting activity like (AR) that they will surely enjoy. 

  • Worksheets will add more to this fun learning experience.

  • Art and crafts or fun activities are the sure-shot way of grabbing the attention of the children.

Instructions

  • Children will listen to a new story about the bear, to be able to enhance their vocabulary, and listening skills.

  • Make it an interesting and interactive session.

  • Have the class sit together and make them repeat the new words in the story.

  • Use voice modulation and hand gestures to make it even more interesting.

 

Informational Text: 

  • Bears are large mammals that eat mostly meat and fish. Many bears also eat plants, bulbs, and insects.

  • Bears have large bodies, stocky legs, a long snout, shaggy hair, paws with claws, and a short tail.

  • .All bears have an excellent sense of smell, allowing them to sniff out food, mates, and their cubs.

  • Though Bears are large animals they can run very fast.

  • They mostly live in forests.

  • The polar bear lives in the North Pole.

 

Art & Craft Activity

Bear Den

Materials required -  Cardboard, pine cones, leaves, small sticks, bear image/plastic toy, plastic cup

  • The teacher has to keep all the materials ready for the activity.

  • She has to explain to the children, "Today we will make a bear den."

  • The teacher has to do the activity first and then ask the children to do it.

  • The children have to first take a cardboard piece. They have to then stick leaves and sticks on it.

  • They have to take an empty cup and stick it on the cardboard like a den.

  • The children have to then take the bear and place it in the den.

  • The teacher can help the children when required.
